Jessica & Jordan reached out to me to photograph their wedding at Brookside Gardens this Fall, and I immediately knew we were going to click (sorry, no pun intended!) We started planning their engagement session for Rawlings Conservatory and I was so excited to get these two in front of the camera. 

Their compatibility and friendship is so evident in the way they love each other. There’s such a comfort & ease between them. 

We planned their engagement session around Rawlings Conservatory.

These two loved the greenhouse atmosphere and sprawling gardens. As an artist, I liked the juxtaposition of natural growth surrounding them as they evolve into the next season of their lives both individually and as a couple. 

The day we had picked for their session ended up being a rainy day. We could have rescheduled, but honestly it was a vibe and we didn’t want to miss it. So we brought clear umbrellas instead! 

We started off inside the greenhouse at Rawlings Conservatory.

I photographed their images on a hybrid of digital and film. I love creating this way. While my editing style is very true to life, there is something so immediately nostalgic about film photography. I love including it in my final galleries for my couples.

Jessica wore the cutest floral dress for their session, and I loved the gentle pop of color against all the greenery. The lavender was perfectionnn. And the sheer sleeves added that texture that photographed really well against all the plants. And of course Jordan was dapper as ever in his blue suit & tie. They leaned on a more “formal” look for their outfits, but it wasn’t over-the-top.

They really did such a great job of dressing for the location.

… we went outside to the courtyards and gardens surrounding the building.

The rain was still misting down, so we used the clear umbrella and just vibed with the day.  I actually adore photographing in overcast weather, so I was happy that Jessica and Jordan were so down to take pictures in the rain.
