As a black, queer woman in a white, hetero-dominated industry, my mission is to foster inclusivity, diversity, and acceptance across every aspect of my business. I truly believe addressing the lack of diverse narratives in the wedding industry allows ALL love stories to be honored, and makes weddings about authentic connections where couples feel seen and understood!
These two had such an amazing Baltimore engagement session! I knew from the moment we ended their session that it was something I was going to be excited to blog.
When we first started talking about their photos, they expressed wanting to spend the day visiting some of their favorite places in the city. Ummm, sign me up. I love when my couples choose to have an authentic, fun day.
I love to think of your hypothetical future kids or grandkids looking at these photos and not just seeing people in love. But seeing a true snapshot of what LIFE was like for you. The restaurants you loved. The parks you visited. The streets you walked.
We started off at: Pitango. If you have not been, you need to! Run now! This is one of their is one of their favorite coffee shops. You can regularly find them here on a lazy weekend morning sipping lattes together. For the session, the bride even put their wedding date in the foam and it was the cutest thing ever. A real little time stamp for them!

This is where they had their first date. If you want to add your first date location to your engagement session… PLEASE hire me as your photographer because I am a total sap for that. I love love.
Because, what do you mean that not that long ago you were two strangers on this same sidewalk, and now you’re committing to witness each other’s lives forever!? I’m always going to want to capture that as a Maryland wedding photographer.

This is another regular staple for them, and they enjoy taking their sweet pup here often! Do you think we stopped by their house and brought their puppy along? YOU KNOW WE DID. We spent the rest of the session frolicking in the park, enjoying the sunshine and popping champagne. I can’t really think of a better way to celebrate being engaged than that.
I’m photographing this sweet couples’ wedding this coming spring at Woodberry Kitchen in Baltimore, and I’m super excited! I LOVE that venue and I know it’s going to be just as dreamy as their photo session.
It was quintessential Baltimore. It was all about their LOVE. And it was playful, familiar and nostalgic. I was so inspired as an artist the entire day.

Psst: This engagement session was also photographed on digital & film. If you love that look, we should chat!! I’d be honored to witness & document your love story too.
