As a black, queer woman in a white, hetero-dominated industry, my mission is to foster inclusivity, diversity, and acceptance across every aspect of my business. I truly believe addressing the lack of diverse narratives in the wedding industry allows ALL love stories to be honored, and makes weddings about authentic connections where couples feel seen and understood!
For my couples looking to do their engagement photos in Baltimore during the Winter or Spring, I know it can be hard to navigate the weather. Things are COLD and unpredictable. We’ve got the winds coming out to play, and sometimes the scenery can be a bit bare. As a Maryland wedding photographer, I’m always on the hunt for engagement session locations in Baltimore, especially for the colder months.
One of the easiest ways to make sure you have a great Winter or Spring session, is to center your photos indoors instead of outside.
If you pick a beautiful building for your photos, you’ll know your gallery is going to look incredible. We have so many options for historical architecture here on the East Coast, and you can use that to your advantage.
And we can always sneak outside to a local park and get a few more pictures if the weather is cooperating! Sidewalk photos or taking a stroll in the park can really round out the variety in yoru gallery!
I’ll give you the TLDR, and then you can scroll down to see more about each location!

The Walters Art Museum is perfect for couples who love BEAUTIFUL architecture and art. It has a historic setting and art-filled galleries. It gives that sophisticated vibe!! Which makes the portraits so dreamy & romantic. Especially when winter weather makes an outdoor session less appealing, this can be a really good option! (That’s where this session took place!!)
We do have to get prior approval before photographing here, but there is no photography permit required! Which is super nice!
These two had the loveliest time walking through the museum together and taking beautiful photos! They wore formal attire that was a nod to their future wedding outfits. And they looked so sophisticated and polished.

This historic townhouse has so much character and architectural detail. It gives a more intimate, romantic feel. (AKA engagement photo vibes!!)
Since it’s an indoor location, it’s also worth looking into for those chilly winter days when being outside for an hour doesn’t sound super appealing!
We’ll want to check about access and permission before planning your session here. But there’s no fee at Hackerman House either!
Okay, BOOK LOVERS, this one’s for you!! The George Peabody Library is seriously stunning, with towering bookshelves, ornate iron balconies, and a gorgeous atrium that makes the entire space feel straight out of a movie. If you’re dreaming of romantic, dramatic, almost old-world engagement photos, this location is hard to beat!
The catch? You do need advance approval to photograph here, and fees mighhhtt apply. Engagement sessions are generally scheduled on Fridays when the library is closed to the public, so you’ll want to plan ahead and confirm availability before getting your heart set on it!
If you and your partner love art and modern architecture, the Baltimore Museum of Art is such a fun option! Spring is especially lovely to consider here because you can take advantage of the outdoor spaces when the weather starts warming up. You can get a mix of architectural portraits and outdoor photos all in one spot!
One thing to know: professional photography on museum property requires advance approval, including in the sculpture gardens. The gardens are also weather-dependent, so keep that in mind if you’re planning a winter session!

Not every engagement session needs to be super formal! If you and your partner would rather grab coffee and hang out together than pose in front of a bunch of landmarks, Ceremony Coffee Roasters could be such a cute option. Think coffee dates, candid laughs, cozy moments, and photos that feel like you.
Before planning your session inside, you’ll want to contact the Mount Vernon location to make sure professional photography is allowed. Since it’s an active coffee shop, it’s also worth asking about quieter times so you can take photos without getting in the way of customers or staff.
Especially for those Winter & Spring months!
When you book with me, I’m always going to help you plan a session that you LOVE. I know all the good spots, and I know what questions to ask you to help you find the perfect one. From planning outfits to looking into photography permits, I have my client’s back each step of the process.
